Right to cancel
The goods you have ordered will be delivered within 30 days - how quickly within that period will depend on the shipping type you selected at checkout.
If your order was advertised as a ‘pre-order’ the goods will be delivered according to the timeline for production and readiness to ship agreed by you at the point of placing the order and confirmed by us to you in an email.
If you choose for your order to be ‘shipped’ at checkout, the goods will be classed as delivered on the date provided by the shipper’s tracking reference information. If you selected the option to ‘Collect’ from us at our address then the goods will be classed as delivered immediately, on the date of your order confirmation.
You have a legal right to cancel or return your order up to 14 days after your order was delivered, for any reason and without a justification. Your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Request a refund or exchange
The Linnean Society operates a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the date your order was delivered to complete our returns process and be eligible for a refund of the cost paid for the goods.
Exchanges can be requested but the fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have for refund, and as soon as the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. Exchanges will require your item to be returned before a new item can be despatched so will take longer and stock levels may change in the intervening time.

Our returns process (Right to cancel and Requests for refund or exchange)
To start a return, you can contact us at info@linnean.org. Please state your name, date of order, order reference, what items you wish to return. If it is 14 days or more since your order was delivered please give a reason why you are requesting a return. Identify any preference for exchange otherwise we will proceed according to our returns policy for refund.
Allow up to five working days (Monday to Friday excluding UK bank holidays) for our email response.
If your return is accepted, you will then need to arrange shipping of your return to us. Please use a method with a projected delivery date that is within 30 days of the date you order was delivered to you. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Returns Policy (Right to cancel and Requests for refund or exchange)
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Returns must be sent to the following address: Linnean Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, W1J 0BF. We recommend you use a tracked / insured shipping service as the goods are your responsibility until they are delivered to us.
Tracking reference information provided by the shipper will inform you of the date a parcel was delivered. The end point, where the shipper designates the parcel as delivered, may be the shipping address, a nominated safe place, delivery to a neighbour/local depot/other allowed under the conditions of carriage.
Shipping costs will not be refunded. This includes:
- any cost paid to us when you placed your order where we executed a shipment from us to you
- any cost incurred by you covering the return shipment from you to us.
Taxes, duties, fees, and charges relating to import by customers outside the UK will not be refunded. All import costs are your responsibility. If delivery is not completed because you fail to pay taxes, fees and/or charges resulting in your shipment being returned to us by the shipper then a 25% restocking fee will be deducted from any eligible refund.
Any international returns must be clearly labelled as RETURN on the outside of the shipment. You must also fill in any forms required by the authorities and provide any requested evidence, such as proof of purchase, to facilitate the free-flow of this shipment back to the UK in an efficient and timely manner. Proper documentation completion for the authorities will also expedite any claim from you to them for any eligible refund of any import taxes, duties, fees, and charges paid.
Refunds
We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
